Provides a detailed view of a competitors' history, management, strategy, financial situation, products, operations, marketing and other elements that define a company. Evaluation includes the current situation, recent trends or events and projections for future actions.

Compares a company's strengths and weaknesses to those of key competitors to identify opportunities and threats. Assessment includes recommended actions to maximize opportunities and minimize threats.

Market Assessment
Assesses on a broad basis the market dynamics within a given market or industry. Includes evaluation of key competitors, overall customer and competitive trends, ease of entry into the market, emerging competitors, industry lifecycle, industry profitability, external factors impacting the market and other elements relevant to a particular market.

In a constantly changing business environment supplementing periodic significant evaluations of the competitive environment with ongoing, timely news of changes in the market itself, key competitors, emerging competitors, key customers and external factors that impact the market (e.g. governmental regulations) provides client management with insight necessary for mid-course modifications as appropriate.

Benchmarking
Measuring the performance of a company known for strength in a particular area against the performance of the Company in that area. The company that is benchmarked may or may not be a competitor. In many cases the benchmarked company is in a very different industry, yet has developed strengths that can be applied to the Company. In other cases the Company benchmarks their performance against those of their competitors to assess relative strengths in given performance areas that are determinants of success.

Reverse Intelligence Audits or Counter Intelligence
Companies provide a variety of communications to the external market intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. A reverse audit identifies information about the Company that has been disseminated outside of the company and the source of that information. An understanding of the information known outside of the Company provides the insight for management to identify information that it desires to protect and take steps to limit further dissemination of that information.
